About Us
The Actors Forge
The Actors Forge is a collective of Actors, Writers and Producers based in the North East of England.
We offer weekly workshops and masterclasses with some of the creative industries top professionals.
The Actors Forge was started in 2018 by Actor, Writer and Producer Daniel Matthew Lemon.
After returning to the North East from studying and working professionally in London, Dan wanted to build a community of actors dedicated to the development of the regions artists and their access to professional work.
Weekly Workshops
Workshops take place every weekend in central Newcastle at one of our regular creative spaces.
We employ a variety of acting techniques to train and develop actors of all levels on the foundations of the craft.
We begin with a short vocal and physical warm up before moving on to more technical workshops involving everything from Meisner and Stanaslavski technique, to exercises on emotional realism, to improvisation.
Here at the Forge we love and appreciate all things acting, including stage and musical theatre, however, our workshops tend to focus on more authentic interpretations of acting technique which lend themselves to screen acting.
Masterclasses
The Actors Forge is committed to bringing in the countries top industry professionals so you might learn from the best in the business.
We have strong links to regional and Northern based agents and Casting Directors who occasionally attend industry masterclasses to offer advice and observe your development.
Recent Masterclasses include, Andrea Clark, Casting Director for major films like Dog Soldiers and Blade II, Peter Hunt, Casting Director for Hollyoaks and Anita Gilbert, Head Of Voice with Speak Easy Voices.

The Actors Forge is not a conventional acting school, it is an opportunity to meet, work and network with like minded peers and develop your craft at your own pace.
We have everyone from Game of Thrones stars to actors just starting out in attendance at our classes, and everyone with an interest in the art of acting is welcome.
Our classes and the advice we offer is tailored to the individual and is focused on how we can set goals and develop a pathway for success in your acting career.

Success Stories
We have had over Ten Actors be successfully accepted on to Spotlight, the home of casting and the online accreditation for professional actors.
We’ve had just as many gain representation and begin auditioning for professional work.
Our members work regularly across theatre in the North East and most recently have auditioned for major television shows like Sky’s Brassic and ITVs Emmerdale.
